The overall energy objectives of the ECO-CULTURE buildings are:
- To reduce the energy consumption and CO2 emission related to cooling by 75-80%
- To reduce the heat consumption and related CO2 emission by 35-50%
- To reduce the energy for ventilation and related CO2 emission by 35-50%
- To use renewables; sea water, ground water and solar energy
- To use intelligent control for maximised utilisation of the use technologies
- To disseminate the used ECO-concepts of the high-performing cultural buildings as there is a need for increased awareness about ways to improve the environmental performance of this type of buildings throughout Europe and beyond

Contribution of future buildings projects |
| It is expected that the demonstration and documentation of the ECO-concepts will contribute significantly to the further adoption of the solutions in cultural buildings all over Europe. All the solutions are replicable at other types of buildings, especially in commercial buildings and offices. |
